Ignoring the Fog

"Casting Shadows"

Ever had a day when brain fog threatens to overshadow creativity? It happens a lot when I have too much on my mental To Do list.  This morning when I first woke up, I thought It's Monday! I love Mondays because they stretch out like a gigantic blank canvas, inviting me to fill the week before me.

Real fog (like we have here in our valley this morning) is thick and gray and casts a gloom over the neighborhood. But I also know it will lift soon--just like those times when creative bursts come more like dribbles, and new ideas seem to be in hiding.

Yesterday I posted this "Casting Shadows" print to both my Etsy and Artfire shops. I remember the morning I captured this photo of a simple green vase. It was terribly foggy out, so I opened my kitchen blinds wide and let morning light sift through the swirly pattern of the glass.

Colors, textures, and light lift our spirits on the grayest of days. I don't know about you, but they remind me to look on the bright side and no matter how thick the fog or gray the sky, to count my blessings. So that's exactly what I'm doing this morning.

As I explore Artfire and Etsy, I come across so many listings that make me happy at first glance. Here are four I'd like to showcase today. Enjoy!

"Lollipop Tree"
"Apocalyptic Trees"

"Bouquet d'octobre"

"Glowing Expressive Floral Painting"

Have a wonderful week, everyone. If you woke with brain fog or a foggy, gray Monday morning, hang in there. Sooner or later the sun will break through. Promise.
