Favorite Quotes

Someone once asked me why I love inspirational quotes. I had to think about that. Why would I quote somebody else, when my own head is full of words begging to get out?

Simple.  I love the thought of repeating what someone said decades (or centuries) ago, and wondering what drove them to write that down.

Quotes are like M&M's. I can't help myself to just one.  Here's a handful to begin with, and I'm sure I'll add more later on. If you have a favorite quote of your own and would like to share it, please do so. Just leave it in a comment on this page.
